Course Objectives and Outcomes
After completing this course
- Students will know about the Basic Principles governing planning of diets.
- Students will be able to enumerate the various factors affecting the choice of diet and methods of assessing nutrient requirements
- Students will be able to effectively use food exchange lists for diet planning
- Students would know the nutritional requirements and RDAs for the various stages of life.
- Students will be able to plan meals according to nutrient requirements, for each stage in the life cycle.
- Students will know about nutritional considerations during special conditions for various stages of life.
- Through practice during the sessions students will learn to plan various diets and to calculate the nutritive value of various menus.

Modus Operandi:
- Pdf/ppt. for all units will be provided at the start of the week.
- Online Interactive classes will be held twice every week.
- Assignment for all units will be given at the end of the week, to be submitted before the end of the subsequent week
- Students will be evaluated as per the assignments submitted, presentations and performance during online sessions
- Certificate will be awarded after successful completion of any of the 3 modules
- Diploma will be awarded after successful completion of the Combined Course on Advanced and Therapeutic Nutrition (all 3 modules)
